This combination medication is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. Oral candidiasis Vulvovaginal candidiasis Gastrointestinal irritation Headache disorder Loose stools Diarrhea Phlebitis after infusion Constipation Pruritus of skin Skin rash Dyspnea Nausea Vomiting Anaphylaxis Serum sickness Insomnia Pain/swelling at injection site Chest pain Difficult/painful urination Easy bruising/bleeding Signs of liver disease New signs of infection Persistent diarrhea Abdominal or stomach pain/cramping Blood/mucus in your stool Rash Itching/swelling Severe dizziness Trouble breathing Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea may occur. If this medication is injected into a muscle, pain at the injection site may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in oral thrush or a new vaginal yeast infection. Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge, or other new symptoms. Ampicillin can commonly cause a mild rash that is usually not serious. However, you may not be able to tell it apart from a rare rash that could be a sign of a severe allergic reaction. Therefore, get medical help right away if you develop any rash. Do not take if you are allergic to penicillin Tell pharmacist if you are on a low-sodium diet Take at the same time(s) daily as directed Call your doctor if you get a rash Success is dependent on completing therapy course Report severe diarrhea or abdominal pain to doctor. Watch for oral thrush or vaginal yeast infections. Tell doctor your complete medical history May cause diarrhea during treatment. If it persists or becomes severe, tell your doctor or pharmacist. Persistent diarrhea due to colitis may rarely occur weeks or months after using antibiotics. If this occurs, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
